Quotes about
Christianity
.. “You can safely
assume you've created God in your own image when it turns out that God hates
all the same people you do.” ― Anne Lamott
.. “[To have Faith in
Christ] means, of course, trying to do all that He says. There would be no
sense in saying you trusted a person if you would not take his advice. Thus if
you have really handed yourself over to Him, it must follow that you are trying
to obey Him. But trying in a new way, a less worried way.
Not doing these things in order to be saved, but because He
has begun to save you already. Not hoping to get to Heaven as a reward for your
actions, but inevitably wanting to act in a certain way because a first faint
gleam of Heaven is already inside you.” -C.S. Lewis
.. “The Christian
ideal has not been tried and found wanting. It has been found difficult; and
left untried.” ― G.K. Chesterton,
Prayer
Prayer is more than a plea; it is a place where we must
spend time if we are to learn its power.
Prayer
Prayer is “that part of the pasture” where the bush is
burning. If we are to be powerful in prayer, we must spend time there.
Thy will be done
When we pray for help in trouble or for healing in sickness,
or for deliverance in persecution, God may not give us what we ask for because
that may not be His wise and loving will for us. He will answer our prayer in
His own way, and will not let us down in our hour of need.
