See to it that you do not refuse him who speaks. If they did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, how much less will we, if we turn away from him who warns us from heaven? —
With the gift of Jesus comes an awesome responsibility: we must listen, follow, and honor him! If God demanded that his people obey his lesser messengers who were prophets or kings, what do you think the responsibility is for us to listen when he has emptied heaven of his Son's glory so that it might shine on us?
God Gave to Give Us Life' — John 3:16
God loves us! That is the triumphant message of the Bible. That is the greatest message we will ever receive. Thankfully, however, this is not just a message in words. God wanted us to know his love for us, so he demonstrated that love at great personal cost. God loves us! We know that because he gave his Son for us. God loves us!
He didn't want the power of "perish" to claim us, so he gave us the power of his love. God loves us! He sacrificed so we could have life. God loves us! Don't ever doubt it. Don't let the evil one rob you of this life-giving truth. God loves you and wants to give you life!
'Acts of Faith Are Weapons of Freedom'
She had heard about Jesus, so she came up behind him through the crowd and touched his robe. For she thought to herself, ‘If I can just touch his robe, I will be healed.’ - Mark 5:27-28
Prayer
Lord, help me to deduce new and wonderful truths as I read, study, and internalize the stories and parables in Your Holy Scriptures. Thank you for this woman with an issue of blood who did just that although there was no command or example or promise that this small act of faith would be rewarded with healing. That’s exactly what You did for her — in spite of the fact that she was disobedient by not announcing she was unclean and yelling for others to stay away, as she was supposed to have been doing. Help me to have the faith to do similar acts of faith throughout my life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
