'Signed, Sealed, and Delivered'

In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit,  who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory. – Ephesians 1:13-14
When I read this passage, I can't help but remember the line in the old song that goes, "Signed, sealed, delivered, I'm yours!"* These should be our words, recognizing that the work of the Holy Spirit signs, seals, and delivers us to God's presence. And until that day, the Spirit lives inside us as God's presence. Every aspect of our spiritual journey is connected to the work of the Spirit, with the end result assured by the Spirit!

2 Peter 3:18

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.

Where do you need to grow in your walk with the Lord? How about keeping the tandem targets of grace and knowledge together as your goal. So often we pursue one or the other.

But something seems to come unhinged in our soul when either of those becomes more important than the other. Let's keep grace and knowledge together because we see them together in our Savior.
'Food You Don't Know About'

Meanwhile, the disciples were urging Jesus, "Rabbi, eat something." But Jesus replied, "I have a kind of food you know nothing about." "Did someone bring him food while we were gone?" the disciples asked each other. - John 4:31-33

Jesus had real food, food that sustained his soul rather than his body. While physical food was greatly valued by Jesus and his disciples (John 4:8; 6:1-14), we must always remember that Jesus was trying to open our eyes so we can see the real food God longs to provide us. The same power that sustained Jesus — living out God's mission in our lives — can sustain us. Let's find that food!

Thought

While dreams are nice and they get us up in the morning, obedience to God is far more important than marching towards some distant dream that may or may not be part of His plan for us. - Angela Hunt
