“When they came to the place called the Skull, they crucified him there, along with the criminals—one on his right, the other on his left.” – Luke 23:33
1] The cross separates the willing from the unwilling
2] The cross reconciles sinners to a loving God
3] The cross inspires the faithful to fight a good fight.
When Jesus Goes with Us
As they talked and discussed these things with each other, Jesus himself came up and walked along with them; - Luke 24:15
When Jesus goes with us:
1] There is a new level of fellowship
2] There is an abiding peace within
3] There is an obligation to tell what we have seen
Why Are You Troubled?
“He said to them, “Why are you troubled, and why do doubts rise in your minds?” – Luke 24:38
We are most troubled when we:
1] Fail to believe the promise of God
2] Cannot see the blessings of God
3] Refuse to love as Christ loved us
Thoughts
"The voices of the world are loud and sparse, but the voice of God is a constant whisper." - Benjamin J. Elger
"If your heart takes more pleasure in reading novels, or watching TV, or going to the movies, or talking to friends, rather than just sitting alone with God and embracing Him, sharing His cares and His burdens, weeping and rejoicing with Him, then how are you going to handle forever and ever in His presence...? You'd be bored to tears in heaven, if you're not ecstatic about God now!" - Keith Green
"Our religious activities should be ordered in such a way as to have plenty of time for the cultivation of the fruits of solitude and silence." - A. W. Tozer
