Think of all the things the disciples of Jesus did wrong. Recall all the things they misunderstood. Remember the many times they blew the opportunity to do the right thing or say the right word.
During Jesus' ministry, his disciples often came up lacking. Yet Jesus did not give up on them. He still loved them. He even continued to believe in them. Well, what did they do with that trust, that unflagging confidence that they would be his glory?
They changed the world, helped create an enduring movement, and brought Jesus' message and Jesus' salvation to millions of people through their ongoing legacy of faith, courage, and obedience. They are his glory.
And as we live for the Lord, so are we!
Saved to Serve
Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave — just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Matthew 20:26b-28
Our God Knows What to Do
“He (God) upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets prisoners free, the Lord gives sight to the blind, the Lord lifts up those who are bowed down, the Lord loves the righteous. The Lord watches over the alien and sustains the fatherless and the widow…” Psalm 146:7-9
Psalm 103:5
[Bless the LORD] who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's. —
God is a God of renewal and blessing. His desire to renew and bless us is not just a desire to bless us once with our salvation. God desires to bless us daily. His steadfast love is new every morning as he faithfully pours out his blessings (cf. Lam. 3:23). But more than just giving us what we want, he satisfies us with good things. He brings us what we need and what truly fills our emptiness.

. I have learned to place myself before God every day as a vessel to be filled with his Holy Spirit. He has filled me with the blessed assurance that he, as the everlasting God, has guaranteed his own work in me. - Andrew Murray
