The Believers Hope

The believers hope is expressed in several glorious ways. Note that God Himself is called “the God of Hope” (Romans 15:13).

1        The hope is “the resurrection of the dead

Acts 23:6

Then Paul, knowing that some of them were Sadducees and the others Pharisees, called out in the Sanhedrin, “My brothers, I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee. I stand on trial because of my hope in the resurrection of the dead.”

2  The hope of the promise.

Acts 26:-6-7

6 And now it is because of my hope in what God has promised our fathers that I am on trial today.
7 This is the promise our twelve tribes are hoping to see fulfilled as they earnestly serve God day and night. O king, it is because of this hope that the Jews are accusing me.

3        The hope of Israel.

Acts 28:20

For this reason I have asked to see you and talk with you. It is because of the hope of Israel that I am bound with this chain.”

4        The hope that is the object of faith.

Romans 4:18

Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, “So shall your offspring be.”

5        The hope of the glory of God.

Romans 5:2

Through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.

Colossians 1:27

To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Titus 2:13

While we wait for the blessed hope—the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ,

6        The hope that saves us.

Romans 8:24

For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has?

7        The hope that causes believers to endure afflictions.

Romans 8:25

But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.

1 Thessalonians 1:3

We continually remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.

8        The hope of believers that comes through the Scripture.

Acts 15:4

When they came to Jerusalem, they were welcomed by the church and the apostles and elders, to whom they reported everything God had done through them.

9        The hope which is a gift of the Holy Spirit.

Romans 15:13

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

10    The hope that is one of the three essential traits of the believer.

 1 Corinthians 13:13

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

11     The hope in Christ.

1 Corinthians 15:10

But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.

1 Timothy 1:1

Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the command of God our Savior and of Christ Jesus our hope,
