Salvation

Salvation – Sought in vain from:

Earthly Power:

Jeremiah 3:23

Surely the idolatrous commotion on the hills and mountains is a deception; surely in the LORD our God is the salvation of Israel.

No escape for those who neglect:

Hebrews 2:3

how shall we escape if we ignore such a great salvation? This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him.

Is far off from the wicked:

Psalms 119:155

Salvation is far from the wicked, for they do not seek out your decrees.

Isaiah 59:11
We all growl like bears; we moan mournfully like doves. We look for justice, but find none; for deliverance, but it is far away.

Salvation – Illustrated by:

A rock:

Deuteronomy 32:15

Jeshurun grew fat and kicked; filled with food, he became heavy and sleek. He abandoned the God who made him and rejected the Rock his Savior.

2 Samuel 22:47

“The LORD lives! Praise be to my Rock! Exalted be God, the Rock, my Savior!

Thought for the Day

No one is so good that he can save himself and no one is so bad that God cannot save him.
