Theme: Our Priorities

The Lent Season:

First Week in Lent

Theme: Our Priorities

Our priorities should take into consideration the main concern God has for our life. Have we checked to see whether our priorities in life are in order and in accordance with the will of God? It is not easy to have a balanced life when we are focused on the wrong things in life.  God knows what is best for us and our family and what is going to make us happy. Cooperate with Him, do things His way and we will have the best that life has to offer us.

Jesus prescribed our relational priorities in this passage:  “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with your entire mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself” (Matt 22:37-39). We as the disciples of Jesus Christ must prioritize our relationships with God as well as with others. Spiritual maturity is impossible without learning and applying these spiritual principles in our lives.

Here are some Bible passages that will help us in setting up our priorities, goals and plans. “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed” (Prov 16:3).  “For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart” (Jer. 29:11-13). This assurance and promise will enable us to set our priorities in life.

During this week my priorities will be:

•          Give top priority to God in my life.

•          Give attention to my Family – Wife, Children and take care of them.

•          Attend Church with my wife and children

•          Maintain good fellowship with other believers.

•          Work hard and earn my livelihood

•          Pay attention to my and my family’s health and well being

•          Will involve in some ministry by volunteering

This will not be for this week alone but for my whole life.
