Prayer


“Everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds”…Matthew 7:8

1. P – Plead the promises:

“If you know then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will you Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”…Luke 11:13

“Then the master called the servant in. You wicked servant, he said, I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to”…Matthew 18:32

2. R – Realize your needs:

 “Do not hold against us the sins of the fathers; may your mercy come quickly to meet us, for we are in desperate need”…Psalm 79:8

3. A – Ask in faith:

“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him”…Hebrew 11:6

“But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind”…James 1:6

4. Y – Yield your will and all to Him:

Going a little further, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will”…Matthew 26:39

5. E – Expect answer to your prayers:

“They were helped in fighting them, and God handed the Hagrites and all their allies over to them, because they cried out to him during the battle. He answered their prayers, because they trusted in him”…1 Chronicles 5:20

6. R – Remember your prayers:

“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful”…Colossians 4:2
