Psalms 39:1
1 I said, “I will watch my ways and keep my tongue from sin; I
will put a muzzle on my mouth as long as the wicked are in my presence.”
2 But when I was silent and still, not even saying anything
good, my anguish increased.
3 My heart grew hot within me, and as I meditated, the fire
burned; then I spoke with my tongue:
4 “Show me, O LORD, my life's end and the number of my days; let
me know how fleeting is my life.
5 You have made my days a mere handbreadth; the span of my years
is as nothing before you. Each man's life is but a breath.
6 Man is a mere phantom as he goes to and fro: He bustles
about, but only in vain; he heaps up wealth, not knowing who will get it.
7 “But now, Lord, what do I look for? My hope is in you.
Proverbs 11:30
30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who
wins souls is wise.
31 If the righteous receive their due on earth, how much more
the ungodly and the sinner!
Matthew 7:13
13 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and
broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.
14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to
life and only a few find it.
John 3:16
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only
Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Ephesians 2:8-10
8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and
this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—
9 not by works, so that no one can boast.
10 For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ
Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Revelation 3:5-9
5 He who overcomes will, like them, be dressed in white. I
will never blot out his name from the book of life, but will acknowledge his name
before my Father and his angels.
6 He who has an ear let him hear what the Spirit says to the
churches.
7 “To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: These
are the words of him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What he
opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open.
8 I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open
door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have
kept my word and have not denied my name.
9 I will make those who are of the synagogue of Satan, who
claim to be Jews though they are not, but are liars—I will make them come and
fall down at your feet and acknowledge that I have loved you.
