Questions in Matthew

Q: If asked for a fish will he give a serpent?

Matthew 7:10

Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake?

Q: How much more shall your Father give good things to them that ask?

Matthew 7:11

If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!

Q: do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

Matthew 7:16

By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thorn bushes, or figs from thistles?

Q: many will say, Lord have we not cast out devils?

Matthew 7:22

Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’

Q: why are we fearful?

Matthew 8:26

He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.
