   The Call of God - Providence

Divine providence is brilliantly displayed in the life of David in that he was:

Preserved in providence

2 Samuel 7:1  

After the king was settled in his palace and the LORD had given him rest from all his enemies around him,

2 Samuel 8:6  

He put garrisons in the Aramean kingdom of Damascus, and the Arameans became subject to him and brought tribute. The LORD gave David victory wherever he went.

Chastened in providence

2 Samuel 15:1  

In the course of time, Absalom provided himself with a chariot and horses and with fifty men to run ahead of him.

2 Samuel 16:14  

The king and all the people with him arrived at their destination exhausted. And there he refreshed himself.
