Swear not
James 5:12
Above all, my brothers, do not swear—not by heaven or
by earth or by anything else. Let your “Yes” be yes, and your “No,” no, or you
will be condemned.
Matthew 5:33-36
33 “Again, you have heard that it was said to the
people long ago, ‘Do not break your oath, but keep the oaths you have made to
the Lord.’
34 But I tell you, Do not swear at all: either by
heaven, for it is God's throne;
35 or by the earth, for it is his footstool; or by
Jerusalem, for it is the city of the Great King.
36 And do not swear by your head, for you cannot make
even one hair white or black.

Tarry one for another
1 Corinthians 11:33
So then, my brothers, when you come together to eat,
wait for each other.
179
Tarry for power
Luke 24:49
I am going to send you what my Father has promised;
but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.”
Acts 1:4-8
4 On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he
gave them this command: “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my
Father promised, which you have heard me speak about.
5 For John baptized with water, but in a few days you
will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.”
6 So when they met together, they asked him, “Lord,
are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?”
7 He said to them: “It is not for you to know the
times or dates the Father has set by his own authority.
8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit
comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and
Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Teach on another
Colossians 3:16
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you
teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns
and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.
181
Teach no other doctrines
1 Timothy 1:3
As I urged you when I went into Macedonia, stay there
in Ephesus so that you may command certain men not to teach false doctrines any
longer

Tell brother his fault alone first
Matthew 18:15-17
15 “If your brother sins against you, go and show him
his fault, just between the two of you. If he listens to you, you have won your
brother over.
16 But if he will not listen, take one or two others
along, so that ‘every matter may be established by the testimony of two or
three witnesses.’
17 If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the
church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, treat him as you would
a pagan or a tax collector.
