Job 14:14-16
14 If a man dies, will he live again? All the days of my hard
service I will wait for my renewal to come.
15 You will call and I will answer you; you will long for the
creature your hands have made.
16 Surely then you will count my steps but not keep track of
my sin.
1 John 5:13-14
13 I write these things to you who believe in the name of the
Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.
14 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if
we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.
Ezekiel 40:1-4
1 In the twenty-fifth year of our exile, at the beginning of
the year, on the tenth of the month, in the fourteenth year after the fall of
the city—on that very day the hand of the LORD was upon me and he took me
there.
2 In visions of God he took me to the land of Israel and set
me on a very high mountain, on whose south side was some buildings that looked
like a city.
3 He took me there, and I saw a man whose appearance was like
bronze; he was standing in the gateway with a linen cord and a measuring rod in
his hand.
4 The man said to me, “Son of man, look with your eyes
and hear with your ears and pay attention to everything I am going to show you,
for that is why you have been brought here. Tell the house of Israel everything
you see.”
Deuteronomy 9:5-7
5 It is not because of your righteousness or your integrity
that you are going in to take possession of their land; but on account of the
wickedness of these nations, the LORD your God will drive them out before you,
to accomplish what he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
6 Understand, then, that it is not because of your
righteousness that the LORD your God is giving you this good land to possess,
for you are a stiff-necked people.
7 Remember this and never forget how you provoked the LORD
your God to anger in the desert. From the day you left Egypt until you arrived
here, you have been rebellious against the LORD.
