The Call of God

Principles of Service

Harmony with our fellow-workers as “laborers together with God:

Ezekiel 1:9

And their wings touched one another. Each one went straight ahead; they did not turn as they moved.

1 Corinthians 3:9

For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, God's building.

Singleness of purpose with no deviation on account of other interests:

Ezekiel 1:9

And their wings touched one another. Each one went straight ahead; they did not turn as they moved.

The leading of the Spirit, not our own ambitions and preferences:

Ezekiel 1:12

Each one went straight ahead. Wherever the spirit would go, they would go, without turning as they went.

No slothful lingering in indecision, but prompt and speedy execution of his will:

Ezekiel 1:14

The creatures sped back and forth like flashes of lightning.

Ever watchful for any divine communication

Psalms 40:6-8

6 Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but my ears you have pierced ; burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not require.

7 Then I said, “Here I am, I have come— it is written about me in the scroll.

8 I desire to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart.”
