Questions in Matthew


Q: Which is easier to say, Thy sins be forgiven, or Arise and walk?

Matthew 9:5

Which is easier: to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’?

Q: Why does your Master eat with publicans and sinners?

Matthew 9:11

When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and ‘sinners’?”

Q: Why do we and the Pharisees fast oft, but your disciples fast not?

Matthew 9:14

Then John's disciples came and asked him, “How is it that we and the Pharisees fast, but your disciples do not fast?”

Q: Can the children of the bride chamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them?

Matthew 9:15

Jesus answered, “How can the guests of the bridegroom mourn while he is with them? The time will come when the bridegroom will be taken from them; then they will fast.

Q: If they have called the master Beelzebub, how much more shall they call His house hold?

Matthew 10:25

It is enough for the student to be like his teacher, and the servant like his master. If the head of the house has been called Beelzebub, how much more the members of his household!
