Examination before communion
The Lord’s Supper is not for all
men, but only for those who are able spiritually to discern the Lord’s body. It
is not meant for the conversion of sinners, but for the edification of
disciples. Hence we need of examination, lest we intrude ourselves where we
have no right to be.
1 Corinthians 11:28
A man ought to examine himself
before he eats of the bread and drinks of the cup.

Since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify
ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting
holiness out of reverence for God.

What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols?
For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will live with
them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.”
