The Nature of Faith

You have a desire for more faith, but wonder how to get it. The only you can continually move in faith is to become a man or woman of the Word—that is the only way faith can come: “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God” (Romans 10:7). The closer you get to Jesus and the more you really know Him, the more your faith will grow.

How do you get to know Him better? Learn His Word! As you see what He teaches about life situations and make Him your faith source, you will be able to walk through all circumstances confident in Him. If you make Jesus the focal point of your faith walk, He will mature and perfect your faith. The Holy Spirit gives our human spirits understanding and will help our minds comprehend the Word:

Looking away from all that will distract to Jesus, Who is Leader and the Source of our faith (giving the first incentive to our belief) and is also it’s Finisher, (bringing it to maturity and perfection!) Hebrews 12:2

Being born of God makes you a child of God, so your new nature is faith nature. The child has the nature of the parents and since God is faith God, it is normal that His children have His kind of faith. “And Jesus answered saying to them ‘Have faith in God” (Mark 11:22).

By faith we understand that the words were prepared by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things which are visible. (Hebrews 11:3)

Evangelism

"Revival is the people of God constrained, gripped, overmastered, and overwhelmed by the love of Christ, so that they are feverishly restless to win souls for Christ." – James A. Stewart

Think it over…..

One of the blunders religious people are particularly fond of making is the attempt to be more spiritual than God….Frederick Buechner.
