7 Sayings on the Cross


1. My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me?

Matthew 27:46

About the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?”—which means, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”

Mark 15:34

And at the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?”—which means, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”

Psalms 22:1 My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, so far from the words of my groaning?

2. Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do

Luke 23:34

Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they divided up his clothes by casting lots.

3. Verily I say unto thee, today shalt thou be with Me in paradise.

Luke 23:43

Jesus answered him, “I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise.”

4. Father, into Thy hands I commend My Spirit.

Luke 23:46
