Not Of This World
1 Peter 2:11
Dear friends, I urge you, as aliens and strangers in the
world, to abstain from sinful desires, which war against your soul.
Not Fall Away on Account of Christ
Luke 7:18 John's disciples told him about all these things.
Calling two of them,
19 he sent them to the Lord to ask, “Are you the one who was
to come, or should we expect someone else?”
20 When the men came to Jesus, they said, “John the Baptist
sent us to you to ask, ‘Are you the one who was to come, or should we expect
someone else?’”
21 At that very time Jesus cured many who had diseases,
sicknesses and evil spirits, and gave sight to many who were blind.
22 So he replied to the messengers, “Go back and report to
John what you have seen and heard: The blind receive sight, the lame walk,
those who have leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the
good news is preached to the poor.
23 Blessed is the man who does not fall away on account of
me.”
Hebrews 12:2
Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our
faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame,
and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
No Troubled Heart
John 16:33
“I have told
you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have
trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
No Vision - No People
Proverbs 29:18
Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint;
but blessed is he who keeps the law.
Thought:
I wonder how many Christians have missed out on entering into
their Promised Land this side of heaven – all because they failed to fully
follow God and take the path that He wanted them to take in this life!
