Deceit – Tool of Wicked

Increase in it

2 Timothy 3:13

While evil men and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.

Use it on each other

Jeremiah 9:5

Friend deceives friend, and no one speaks the truth. They have taught their tongues to lie; they weary themselves with sinning.

Use it on themselves

Jeremiah 37:9

“This is what the LORD says: Do not deceive yourselves, thinking, ‘The Babylonians will surely leave us.’ They will not!

Delight in it

Proverbs 20:17

Food gained by fraud tastes sweet to a man, but he ends up with a mouth full of gravel.

Impose on others by it

Romans 16:18

For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery they deceive the minds of naive people.

Sport themselves with it

2 Peter 2:13

They will be paid back with harm for the harm they have done. Their idea of pleasure is to carouse in broad daylight. They are blots and blemishes, reveling in their pleasures while they feast with you.
