Commands to Rejoice

God’s vengeance is taken

Deuteronomy 32:43

Rejoice, O nations, with his people,  for he will avenge the blood of his servants; he will take vengeance on his enemies and make atonement for his land and people.

Zebulun is free to go out

Deuteronomy 33:18

About Zebulun he said: “Rejoice, Zebulun, in your going out, and you, Issachar, in your tents.

Of trust in God

Psalms 5:11

But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you.

Praise is common to upright men

Psalms 33:1

Sing joyfully to the LORD, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise him.

Psalms 68:3-4

3 But may the righteous be glad and rejoice before God; may they be happy and joyful.

4 Sing to God, sing praise to his name, extol him who rides on the clouds— his name is the LORD— and rejoice before him.

Philippians 3:1

Finally, my brothers, rejoice in the Lord! It is no trouble for me to write the same things to you again, and it is a safeguard for you.

Philippians 4:4

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!

Of seeking God

Psalms 40:16

But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; may those who love your salvation always say, “The LORD be exalted!”

Psalms 70:4

But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; may those who love your salvation always say, “Let God be exalted!”
