Romans 7:5
For when we were controlled by the sinful nature, the sinful
passions aroused by the law were at work in our bodies, so that we bore fruit
for death.
Romans 7:18
I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful
nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.
Romans 7:25
Thanks be to
God—through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to
God's law, but in the sinful nature a slave to the law of sin.
Romans 8:3-9
3 For what
the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature, God
did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering.
And so he condemned sin in sinful man,
4 in order
that the righteous requirements of the law might be fully met in us, who do not
live according to the sinful nature but according to the Spirit.
5 Those who
live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature
desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set
on what the Spirit desires.
6 The mind
of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and
peace;
7 the sinful
mind is hostile to God. It does not submit to God's law, nor can it do so.
8 Those
controlled by the sinful nature cannot please God.
9 You,
however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the
Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he
does not belong to Christ.
Romans 8:12
Therefore, brothers, we have an obligation—but it is not to
the sinful nature, to live according to it.
1 Corinthians 5:5
hand this man over to Satan, so that the sinful nature may be
destroyed and his spirit saved on the day of the Lord.
Galatians 5:13
You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your
freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in love.
Galatians 5:16-17
16 So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the
desires of the sinful nature.
17 For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the
Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in
conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want.
Galatians 5:19
The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality,
impurity and debauchery;
Galatians 5:24
Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful
nature with its passions and desires.
Galatians 6:8
The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that
nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the
Spirit will reap eternal life.
