2 Timothy 1:11
And of this gospel I was appointed a herald and an apostle
and a teacher.
1 Corinthians 2:4
My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive
words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power,
1 Corinthians 1:18-24
18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who
are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
19 For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise;
the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.”
20 Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the
philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?
21 For since in the wisdom of God the world through its
wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was
preached to save those who believe.
22 Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks look for wisdom,
23 but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews
and foolishness to Gentiles,
24 but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks,
Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.
Acts 3:26
When God
raised up his servant, he sent him first to you to bless you by turning each of
you from your wicked ways.”
Jeremiah 23:29
“Is not my word like fire,” declares the LORD, “and like a
hammer that breaks a rock in pieces?
Isaiah 53:1
Who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the
LORD been revealed?
2 Timothy 1:16
May the Lord show mercy to the household of Onesiphorus,
because he often refreshed me and was not ashamed of my chains.
1 Thessalonians 1:5-6
5 because our gospel came to you not simply with words, but
also with power, with the Holy Spirit and with deep conviction. You know how we
lived among you for your sake.
6 You became imitators of us and of the Lord; in spite of
severe suffering, you welcomed the message with the joy given by the Holy
Spirit.
