Characteristics of the Gospel

It’s associated with sufferings:

 Mark 8:35

For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me and for the gospel will save it.

Mark 10:29-30

29 “I tell you the truth,” Jesus replied, “no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel

30 will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age (homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields—and with them, persecutions) and in the age to come, eternal life.

2 Thessalonians 3:12

Such people we command and urge in the Lord Jesus Christ to settle down and earn the bread they eat.

It’s associated with hearing:

Mark 4:23

If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.”

It’s associated with miracles as confirmation:

Acts 14:3 So

Paul and Barnabas spent considerable time there, speaking boldly for the Lord, who confirmed the message of his grace by enabling them to do miraculous signs and wonders.

Evangelism:

The great battles, the battles that decide our destiny and the destiny of generations yet unborn, are not fought on public platforms, but in the lonely hours of the night and in moments of agony."
