Death (means a “separation”)

Death (means a “separation”)

Spiritual Death

Galatians 2:1-2

1 Fourteen years later I went up again to Jerusalem, this time with Barnabas. I took Titus along also.

2 I went in response to a revelation and set before them the gospel that I preach among the Gentiles. But I did this privately to those who seemed to be leaders; for fear that I was running or had run my race in vain.

Sinners are dead in their trespasses:

Colossians 2:13

When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins,
Sinners are alienated for the life of God:

Ephesians 4:18

They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts.
The “prodigal” son was “dead”:

Luke 15:24

For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ So they began to celebrate.

Luke 15:32

But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’”
To be carnally minded is death:

Romans 8:6

The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace;
One who lives in pleasure is dead:

1 Timothy 5:6

But the widow who lives for pleasure is dead even while she lives.
If Christian walk according to the flesh, they will also die:

Romans 8:12-13

12 Therefore, brothers, we have an obligation—but it is not to the sinful nature, to live according to it.

13 For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live,

Romans 6:1-2

1 What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase?

2 By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?

Romans 6:16

Don't you know that when you offer yourselves to someone to obey him as slaves, you are slaves to the one whom you obey—whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness?

Romans 6:23

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
