Save the Children

Psalms 34:11

Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD.

How can we save the children?

1. Teach them to guard their tongues

2. Teach them not to flirt with sin

3. Teach them to spend their time doing good

Daily Thoughts

. Jesus is the master of diagnosis and cure.

. Freedom does not give us the right to do what we please, but to do what pleases God.

. Life’s challenges are designed not to break us, but to bend us toward God.

. The human spirit rings with hope at the sound of an encouraging word.

. When we keep our mind on God, God keeps our minds at peace.

. Privilege and responsibility are to sides of the same coin.

. Happiness is not the goal of life--Godliness is.

. Accept correction, and you’ll need less of it.

Quotes on Obedience

It is much safer to obey than to rule.   Thomas a Kempis

In vain I have searched the Bible, looking for examples of early believers whose lives were marked by rigidity, predictability, inhibition, dullness, and caution. Fortunately, grim, frowning, joyless saints in Scriptures are conspicuous by their absence. Instead, the examples I find are of adventurous, risk-taking, enthusiastic, and authentic believers whose joy was contagious even in times of full trial. Their vision was broad even when death drew near. Rules were few and changes were welcome. The contrast between then and now is staggering.   Chuck Swindoll

It is Christ who is to be exalted, not our feelings. We will know Him by obedience, not by emotions. Our love will be shown by obedience, not by how good we feel about God at a given moment. “And love means following the commands of God.” “Do you love Me?” Jesus asked Peter. “Feed My lambs.” He was not asking, “How do you feel about Me?” for love is not a feeling. He was asking for action.   Elisabeth Elliot
