Genesis 39:21
The LORD was with him; he showed him kindness and granted him favor in the eyes of the prison warden.
When God is with us:
We dream impossible dreams
We succeed even when the odds are against us
Our adversities become blessings in disguise
Where Do We Go from Here?
Exodus 16:3
The Israelites said to them, “If only we had died by the LORD's hand in Egypt! There we sat around pots of meat and ate all the food we wanted, but you have brought us out into this desert to starve this entire assembly to death.”
There are three alternatives for those who are in the wilderness:
Return to the security of slavery in Egypt
Camp in the wilderness of sin
Move with haste to the Promised Land
Helping Hands in the Wilderness
Exodus 17:12
When Moses’ hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up—one on one side, one on the other—so that his hands remained steady till sunset.
The inevitable of life (we grow older)
The burden must be shared by the old and young alike
All of us need God’s helping hand in life’s wilderness
The Spirit of a Pioneer
Joshua 14:12
Now give me this hill country that the LORD promised me that day. You yourself heard then that the Anakites were there and their cities were large and fortified, but, the LORD helping me, I will drive them out just as he said.”
Note Caleb’s pioneering spirit:
Caleb possessed an optimistic spirit
Caleb was not afraid of new challenges
Caleb trusted God completely
