Perilous Times and Perilous Men

2 Timothy 3:1-5

1 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come:

2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good,

4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,

5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!

Friends,

In this five verses, we can see 16 characters in human beings.

Lovers of themselves

Lovers of money

Boastful

Proud

Disobedient to their parents

Ungrateful

Unholy

Slanderous

Without self-control

Brutal

Not lovers of the good

Treacherous

Rash

Conceited lovers of pleasures rather than of God.

As we have seen the above characters, are we clean from these characters? Are we involved in all or even in any of the characters?

Today is the time to ask this spiritual question in our lives. As we are all watching the time is near and we are in the end times. Our time is short. Bible is very clear to say that our life is like a shadow and or just a breadth.

Let’s not delay in rectifying ourselves because soon everyone has to stand in the presence of our Lord and to give our answer that what we have done on this earth.

Therefore, Paul says in Romans 6:23 - “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
