Worldliness

The Bible says…

In seeking to know the will of God regarding perplexities and problems, the Christian must come to the Bible for the solution of his problem, with an open mind and a willing heart.

Over and over again the Bible warns against worldliness.

Quotes

-“God meets me everywhere, or I never meet Him only in Bible and Sacrament, and in the Christian fellowship, then I do not know who it is I meet.”

- “The purpose of religion -- at any rate, the Christian religion is not to get you into heaven, but to get heaven into you.”

- If you don’t like your situation in the life, don’t fret or worry - do something about it. Worry less, and act more.

- To take up the cross of Christ is no great action done once for all; it consists in the continual practice of small duties which are distasteful to us.”

- No one is like you, O LORD; you are great, and your name if mighty in power.

Who does what?

A man and his wife were having an argument about who should brew the coffee each morning.
The wife said, 'You should do it because you get up first, and then we don't have to wait as long to get our coffee. The husband said, 'You are in charge of cooking around here and you should do it, because that is your job, and I can just wait for my coffee.' Wife replies, 'No, you should do it, and besides, it is in the Bible that the man should do the coffee.' Husband replies, 'I can't believe that, show me.'  that it indeed says .'HEBREWS'

Spirt of missions

The spirit of Christ is the spirit of missions. The nearer we get to Him, the more intensely missionary we become.

Sympathy is no substitute for action.

Quotes

. Aim at heaven and you will get earth thrown in. Aim at earth and you get neither.

. Humility is not thinking less of yourself, it's thinking of yourself less.

. There are two kinds of people: those who say to God, 'Thy will be done,' and those to whom God says, 'All right, then, have it your way.'
