Prepare the way of the Lord,

Make His paths straight,

Open the gates

That He may enter freely into our life,

Hosanna! We cry to the Lord.

And we will fill the earth with the sound of His praise!

Jesus is Lord,

Let Him be adored!

Yes we will have this man to reign over us!

Hosanna! We follow the Lord.

Christmas Quotes from Charles Spurgeon:

“Do you not feel, my brethren, that the gospel of God is peace to man? Where else can peace be found but in the message of Jesus?”

“But, now, when the new-born King made his appearance, the swaddling band with which he was wrapped up was the white flag of peace. That manger was the place where the treaty was signed, whereby warfare should be stopped between man’s conscience and himself, man’s conscience and his God.

It was then, that day, the trumpet blew—’Sheathe the sword, oh man, sheathe the sword, oh conscience, for God is now at peace with man, and man at peace with God.’ Do you not feel, my brethren, that the gospel of God is peace to man? Where else can peace be found but in the message of Jesus?”

Deuteronomy 9:17

[Moses reminds the Israelites of his reaction to seeing the golden calf by saying,] "So I took the two tablets and threw them out of my hands, breaking them to pieces before your eyes."

Thoughts on Today's Verse....

Anger, frustration, disappointment, and loss of self-control have sunk many of God's greatest leaders. Leading can sometimes be a horribly disappointing task. Yet God's people would perish without strong leaders full of godly conviction. Despite the failure of some of our leaders and the perils that can beset those who choose to lead, leadership is as honorable as it is vital!

Where would Israel have been without Moses or Joshua or Hezekiah or David...? So if the Lord is calling you to lead, don't accept his invitation lightly, but please, accept it! If you are not a leader, please remember to pray for your leaders and their families.
