The Grace of Christ

The Meaning of Grace

Favor – You have found favor:

Luke 1:30

And the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.

Grace – And the grace of God:

Luke 2:40

And the child grew and became strong, filled with wisdom. And the favor of God was upon him.

Credit – What credit is that:

Luke 6:32

“If you love those who love you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them.

Thank – Would he thank:

Luke 17:9

Does he thank the servant because he did what was commanded?

Gift – Send…your gift:

1 Corinthians 16:3

And when I arrive, I will send those whom you accredit by letter to carry your gift to Jerusalem.

Benefit – You might benefit:

2 Corinthians 1:15

Because I was sure of this, I wanted to come to you first, so that you might have a second experience of grace.

Commendable – Commendable:

For what credit is it if, when you sin and are beaten for it, you endure? But if when you do good and suffer for it you endure, this is a gracious thing in the sight of God.
