Compassion

Compassion is undefiled

Mark 1:41

Then Jesus, moved with compassion, stretched out His hand and touched him, and said to him, “I am willing; be cleansed.”

Compassion is understanding

But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd.

And when Jesus went out He saw a great multitude; and He was moved with compassion for them, and healed their sick.

Compassion is undaunted

Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous;

And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested Him, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”
He said to him, “What is written in the law? What is your reading of it?”
So he answered and said, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’ and ‘your neighbor as yourself.’ ”
Compassion is undefeated

Avoiding Satan’s Snares

1 Peter 5:8

Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

Don’t Stray

Psalms 119:67

Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I obey your word.

James 4:7-8

7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
8 Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

Don’t Strut

Proverbs 16:18

Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.

John 12:42

Yet at the same time many even among the leaders believed in him. But because of the Pharisees they would not confess their faith for fear they would be put out of the synagogue;

43 for they loved praise from men more than praise from God.

James 4:10

Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

Don’t Stoop

Romans 12:21

Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Don’t Stop

Matthew 10:22

All men will hate you because of me, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved.

Romans 8:37-39

37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers,
39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Coping with Care

Some are care(less)

Zephaniah 2:15

This is the rejoicing city
 That dwelt securely,
 That said in her heart,
“I am it, and there is none besides me.”
How has she become a desolation,
A place for beasts to lie down!
 Everyone who passes by her
Shall hiss and shake his fist.

1 Peter 4:18

Now
“If the righteous one is scarcely saved,
Where will the ungodly and the sinner appear?”

Some are care(ful)

Philippians 4:6

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;

1 Peter 5:7

Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

Some are care(free)

Galatians 5:1

Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.

John 8:32-36

And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
They answered Him, “We are Abraham's descendants, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How can You say, ‘You will be made free’?”
Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.

Be Reconciled with God

2 Corinthians 5:20

Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God

2 Corinthians 6:10

As sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.

Meet Jesus

Matthew 4:1-11

Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry. Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.”

But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ”

Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written:

‘He shall give His angels charge over you,’ and,
‘In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.’ ”
Jesus said to him, “It is written again, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’ ”
Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.”

Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ ”

Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him.

The Power of Patience

Let’s consider the biblical definition of patience. It can mean both longsuffering and perseverance, or not giving up and yielding under pressure. In either case, it reveals itself when we are willing to wait without frustration while suffering or experiencing some strong desire. In other words, we accept difficult situations without giving God deadlines. What’s more, patience means accepting what the Lord gives, on His timetable—or what He chooses not to give. This quality results in inner peace and lack of stress. Meanwhile, we should pray, obey, and persist as we seek God’s direction.

The danger of impatience is that we might miss the Lord’s perfect plan and His blessing. Only when we trust our Father’s will and timing can we rest peacefully.

What causes you stress? Carefully examine whether you are taking matters into your own hands or releasing the circumstance to almighty God. Listen to Psalm 37:7, which says, “Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him.” Seek His way and His timing. Anything else can be destructive.

Ours…

But the saints of the Most High will receive the kingdom and will possess it forever — yes, for ever and ever.

- Daniel 7:18

Forever! The Kingdom will belong to God's saints, his children, the people of the Most High (see Daniel 7:27), us! And it will be ours, forever... and ever... and ever. Praise God for his promises, his grace, and his faithfulness.

God’s Power

You saw with your own eyes the great trials, the miraculous signs and wonders, the mighty hand and outstretched arm, with which the LORD your God brought you out. The LORD your God will do the same to all the peoples you now fear. — Deuteronomy 7:19

So often we look at the past work of God and think we will not see the display of his power like our predecessors did. But, just as God reminded a new generation of his people that he would go with them and empower them like he had their parents, we also need to expect him to do more than all we can ask or even imagine by his power at work within us! (cf. Ephesians 3:20)

Towards God’s Glory

For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; he will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. - Revelation 7:17

What a beautiful picture! The One who died for us will nourish and refresh us. The One upon whom all eternity hinges will take time to personally comfort us. No wonder Paul could say that he did not consider his present sufferings worth comparing to the glory that would be revealed to us! (Romans 8:18)

Ephesians 6:24

Grace to all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with an undying love.

Thoughts on This Verse....

Ephesians makes some of the greatest declarations in the entire Bible about the grace of God. This one, however, may be the very richest. Grace is offered to us whether we accept it or not. But, grace is with us in rich abundance and blessing as we love Jesus and hang on to his love with a grip of faith that is unwavering.

Names of God -186 – 126 - 131

God’s Power

"How great you are, O Sovereign LORD! There is no one like you, and there is no God but you, as we have heard with our own ears." - 2 Samuel 7:22

The promises of God to Abraham and David, the work of God through Jesus, and the miraculous preservation of both the Abrahamic and Davidic lines to Jesus are nothing short of miraculous. They are testimony to God's faithfulness and power. When we get discouraged by the unfaithfulness and blasphemy so prevalent in our world, we need to remember the faithfulness of our God and his awesome power displayed through his chosen people.

Christian Friends

A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. - Proverbs 18:24

Who are your closest friends? Good friends are hard to come by in a world of superficial acquaintances and shallow relationships. "Hanging with the crowd" can give us a false sense of belonging, but often leaves us wounded and alone in times of trouble. Open, honest, supportive, and loving relationships don't happen without investment. Ask the Lord to lead you to close friends in his family.

Minister to and serve those around you. Listen to their requests, faithfully upholding them in prayer. Spend time in Christian service with other servant believers. Join yourself to a Bible study or accountability group. As you do, trust that God will give you that "stick-through-thick-and-thin-friend." Companions are easy to find, but can be unreliable. Development of Christian friends is an investment of effort and time, but they are friends with whom we will share forever.

Power of our God

What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God — through Jesus Christ our Lord! - Romans 7:24-25

Our bodies are mortal and flawed. They are tainted with our weakness and sin. But, by the grace of God given us in Jesus Christ, our future does not rest in the dust with our bodies, but in the power of our perfecting Lord.

Thoughts

. Don’t always ask Jesus what He can do for you; ask Jesus what you can do for Him.
. Lord, You assure us that the grand salvation You provided is proved genuine in our pain and that it leads to glory for You. Help us to begin each new day with renewed hope in You.

. Wherever God sends us, He comes alongside us.

. Repentance and forgiveness are the glue that can repair a broken relationship.
. We deserve punishment and get forgiveness; we deserve God’s wrath and get God’s love.

Areas of Deceptions

Satanic Deceptions

Areas of Deceptions

1.

Deception regarding Jesus.

Ezekiel 28:2

“Because your heart is lifted up,
And you say, ‘I am a god,
I sit in the seat of gods,
In the midst of the seas,’
Yet you are a man, and not a god,
Though you set your heart as the heart of a god

2.

Deception regarding Jesus.
Deception regarding the Holy Spirit
Deception regarding the Gospel

2 Corinthians 11:4

For if he who comes preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or if you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted—you may well put up with it!

3

Deception regarding Miracles

2 Thessalonians 2:9

The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders,

Names of God -186 – 119 - 125

119. Priest Forever

Hebrews 5:6

And he says in another place, “You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek

120. Prince of Life

Acts 3:15

You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead. We are witnesses of this.

121. Prince of Peace

Isaiah 9:6

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace.

122. Redeemer

Isaiah 59:20

The Redeemer will come to Zion,

And to those who turn from transgression in Jacob,”

 Says the Lord.

123. Refiner and Purifier

Malachi 3:3

He will sit as a refiner and a purifier of silver; He will purify the sons of Levi, And purge them as gold and silver, That they may offer to the Lord An offering in righteousness

124. Refuge from the Storm

Isaiah 25:4

For You have been a strength to the poor,
A strength to the needy in his distress,
 A refuge from the storm,
 A shade from the heat;
For the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.

125. Resting Place

Jeremiah 50:6

“My people have been lost sheep.
 Their shepherds have led them astray;
They have turned them away on the mountains.
 They have gone from mountain to hill;
They have forgotten their resting place.

God's Holy Fire: 'One!

For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future. There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father, who is over all and in all and living through all. - Ephesians 4:4-6

Unity is more than just getting along. At the core of maintaining unity and keeping the bond of peace (Ephesians 4:3), there is ONE core reality. Paul emphasizes this core reality by using "one" seven times. These seven immutable and essential elements of our faith include the "one Spirit" — the Holy Spirit of God who is at work in us.

We must never let the Spirit of God become relegated to a place of diminished importance. We must, however, realize that just as the "one Lord" animates and defines the "one hope," the "one faith," and the "one baptism," so also the "one Spirit" empowers and defines the nature of our being the "one body" as we seek to honor the "one God."

Evangelism

We are not called to go into a battle with the outcome yet to be decided. The battle was won at Calvary. Jesus commanded the disciples: “Pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers” (Matt. 9:38). And added, “Go!” He still says it. It is a transferred mandate.

Revival comes from God, yes, but when? When we repent our plain disobedience and return to the basic task – Evangelism.

Every single church activity should relate to turning the world back to God. Why are we waiting?
“Rescue the perishing,” or we’ll rescuing ourselves.

Thoughts

` True friends speak the truth in love.

` We must walk in the light to keep eternity’s values in sight.

` Humble work becomes Holy work when it’s done for God.

` God longs to do for others what He has done for you.

The Word of God for our Daily Living – 13 – 19

13. Decisiveness

James 1:5

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

14. Deference

A prudent man foresees evil and hides himself, but the simple pass on and are punished.

Submission as a pattern of Life - 3

Parents by their children

Ephesians 6:1-3

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with promise: “that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth.”

Colossians 3:20

Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well pleasing to the Lord.

Employers, by their employees

Ephesians 6:5-9

Bondservants, be obedient to those who are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in sincerity of heart, as to Christ; not with eye service, as men-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart, with goodwill doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men, knowing that whatever good anyone does, he will receive the same from the Lord, whether he is a slave or free.

And you, masters, do the same things to them, giving up threatening, knowing that your own Master also is in heaven, and there is no partiality with Him.

Colossians 3:22

Bondservants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh, not with eye service, as men-pleasers, but in sincerity of heart, fearing God.

Provision of Justice

"Prepare chains, because the land is full of bloodshed and the city is full of violence." - Ezekiel 7:23
God hates it when the innocent are afflicted with violence and bloodshed. He hates evil and political corruption. He hates courts that are false and leaders who are abusive of their power. We need to rest assured that he will provide deliverance for his faithful followers and administer justice to those who have abused or harmed other people — if not in this life, for sure in the life to come.

God’s Plan

And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. — 2 Corinthians 11:14

While we wait for God's great victory for us to be fully realized, we also need to know that we are in a battle. God will win this battle through Jesus Christ. The final outcome is certain. Christ has already won the decisive battle.

However, let's not be fooled; the evil one will do everything he can to deceive all people and confuse the lost. Let's stick with God's plan — living his truth, listening for his voice in Scripture, and following the lead of his Spirit.

Judging Others

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
-    1 Corinthians 10:31

As humans, we are often quick to quibble over things we feel are important to us when others don't share our enthusiasm — especially food, holidays, and special events. This problem is often more a sign of insecurity than it is a mark of sincerity.

We are to do what we do based on our commitment to honor the Lord, not because others do it or approve of it. At the same time, we want to be careful about judging others for what they do or do not celebrate, eat, or drink. The bottom line when judging such things: Can we do it to honor the Lord?

Life is hard?

28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” – Matthew 11:28-30

I guess we could call it the irony of discipleship. To follow Christ means that we give up everything and follow him. To follow Christ means that we receive untold blessings in this life and eternal life with God in the life to come.

So is it hard? Yes, sometimes it is. But life is hard. Is the burden light as Jesus promised? Yes, because we know our lives are not lived in vain, that we are living life as God intended it, and when life is over, it isn't really over! We get to go home and be with our Lord!

Experience

The people served the LORD throughout the lifetime of Joshua and of the elders who outlived him and who had seen all the great things the LORD had done for Israel. - Judges 2:7

Each generation must have its own first-hand faith. Transforming faith takes more than receiving a godly heritage and stories of the past deeds of God. It requires a fresh experience of God's mighty presence!

Revelation 20:12

And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books.

Romans 14:4

Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To their own master, servants stand or fall. And they will stand, for the Lord is able to make them stand.

Stand before the judgment stand of Christ:

Romans 14:10

You, then, why do you judge your brother or sister? Or why do you treat them with contempt? For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat.

For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light.

It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person’s work. If what has been built survives, the builder will receive a reward. If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will be saved—even though only as one escaping through the flames.

2 Corinthians 5:10

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.

“Blessed be your glorious name, and may it be exalted above all blessing and praise

Stand at latter day upon earth:

Job 19:25

I know that my redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand on the earth.

Stand still, hearken:

Job 37:14

Listen to this, Job; stop and consider God’s wonders.

Stand - 1

Stand back:

Stand still and see salvation:

2 Chronicles 20:17

Numbers 9:8

Moses answered them, “Wait until I find out what the Lord commands concerning you.”

No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.

Joshua 10:8

The Lord said to Joshua, “Do not be afraid of them; I have given them into your hand. Not one of them will be able to withstand you.”

Submission as a pattern of Life - 2

Leadership in the Body of Christ

1 Corinthians 16:15-16

You know that the household of Stephanas were the first converts in Achaia, and they have devoted themselves to the service of the Lord’s people.

I urge you, brothers and sisters, to submit to such people and to everyone who joins in the work and labors at it

1 Thessalonians 5:12-13

Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to acknowledge those who work hard among you, who care for you in the Lord and who admonish you.

Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other.

Hebrews 13:7

Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith.

Hebrews 13:17

Have confidence in your leaders and submit to their authority, because they keep watch over you as those who must give an account. Do this so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no benefit to you.

One another in the Body of Christ

Ephesians 5:21

Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ

1 Peter 5:5

In the same way, you who are younger, submit yourselves to your elders. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.

Husbands, by their wives

Ephesians 5:22

Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord.

Colossians 3:18

Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.

God’s purpose in your life

2 Chronicles 16:9

For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless toward him. You have done foolishly in this, for from now on you will have wars.”

1 Corinthians 9:26

So I do not run aimlessly; I do not box as one beating the air.

Philippians 1:21

For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

2 Corinthians 4:17

For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.

Revelation 4:11

“You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.”

Luke 2:8-11

And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.

Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord."

Thoughts on This Verse....

Shepherds and the glory of the Lord in the same sentence. Shepherds enjoyed a great heritage in Israel with Abraham, Moses, and David as notable shepherds and God being identified through Psalm 23 as a great shepherd. But by this time in Israelite history, they were not highly regarded. They smelled like sheep. They spent their time with sheep. They were not really clean and religious enough to be considered spiritual. So when God chose to announce the birth of Jesus to shepherds with his contingent of angels he makes his point clear: Everyone is loved by God, everyone has access to God, and everyone is! desired by God.

The Word of God for our Daily Living

1. Abundant Life

John 10:10

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.

2. Alertness

Mark 14:38

Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

3. Attentiveness

Hebrews 2:1

Therefore we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it.

4. Boldness

Acts 4:29

And now, Lord, look upon their threats and grant to your servants to continue to speak your word with all boldness

5. Citizenship

Romans 13:1-7

Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same.

For he is God's minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God's minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil. Therefore you must be subject, not only because of wrath but also for conscience’ sake.
For because of this you also pay taxes, for they are God's ministers attending continually to this very thing. Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor.

Proverbs 18:22

Who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the Lord.

Deuteronomy 6:5-9

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children.

Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates

 Jesus, our worthy God.

And they sang a new song: “You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation. – Revelation 5:9

Worthy! What a beautiful word! For those of us who are disciples of Jesus, we know of only one who is truly worthy. He is worthy to open the scroll and reveal the future. He is worthy of praise and adoration. Why? Because even though he was holy, perfect and heavenly, his death on the cross to purchase our pardon, forgiveness, and salvation made him worthy. And he did it not just for us, but also for people of all races and languages and cultures. Jesus, you are worthy!

Modern Church

Most of God's people are contented to be saved from the hell that is without; they are not so anxious to be saved from the hell that is within. - Robert Murray McCheyne

God uses the humble

For the purpose of teaching, let us define weakness:

1. Recognizing our inability to perform God’s will on our own.

2… Yielding our hearts and utterly depending upon the power of the Holy Spirit.

3. Allowing the Holy Spirit to work through us to accomplish the things of eternal value by His power and not our own.

Church leaders often feel a great deal of pressure to be a “success” in ministry. Unfortunately, our ideas of success are often defined by the world’s standards or even by our own pride. We want to be important in the eyes of others. We want to be “great” in God’s Kingdom so that God will greatly us!

But in reality is, that there are no great men of God … only humble men greatly used of God! (Matthew 20:20-28).

Struggling with sin

Paul describing his experience with the law, as a God-fearing Israelites. In this case, the experience he describes – best summarized in the verse – Romans 7:19 “as I do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do – this I keep on doing.” is the typical experience of every Israelites who seeks to keep God’s law as the way to righteousness.

Well, in this context what about us today?

Let’s reflect on the following three points:

1) Think about the dilemma of the God-fear who has

2) God’s law who desires to be obedient and yet does not know Christ

3) Thank God for the deliverance we have through Christ from the condemnation we deserve.

Psalm 5:11

But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them that those who love your name may rejoice in you. —

Thoughts on This Verse....

Our hope is in the LORD! He is the basis of our security and the reason for our joyful songs! He is our protection and hope! He is the reason we rejoice!

Jesus Alone is our Model

1. In Faith – He is the Author and Perfector of our Faith

Hebrews 12:2

Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

2. In Purity – We should be pure just as Jesus is pure

1 John 3:3

And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.

3. In Patience – consider Him who endured such opposition from sinful men.

Hebrews 12:3

For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls.

4. In Humility – your attitude should be same as that of Jesus Christ.

Philippians 2:5-11

Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.

Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

5. In Suffering – Jesus suffered for us leaving us an example. Follow His steps.

1 Peter 2:21

For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps:

6. In Character – you must walk as Jesus walked.

1 John 2:6

He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.

7. In Brotherly Love – live a life of love just as Christ loved us.

Ephesians 5:2

And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.

Submission as a pattern of Life - 1

God

James 4:7

Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Governmental authorities

Romans 13:1-7

Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.

For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason.
They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience.

This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing. Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.

1 Peter 2:13-17

Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every human authority: whether to the emperor, as the supreme authority, or to governors, who are sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to commend those who do right.

For it is God’s will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish people. Live as free people, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as God’s slaves.

Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear God, honor the emperor.

Names of God -186 – (72 -78)

72 – Lion of the Tribe of Judah

Revelation 5:5

But one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to lose its seven seals.”

73 – Lord

Romans 10:13

For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

74 – Lord and Savior Jesus Christ

2 Peter 3:18

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.

75 – Lord of Both the Dead and Living

Romans 14:9

For to this end Christ died and rose and lived again, that He might be Lord of both the dead and the living
76 – Lord God Almighty

Revelation 4:8

The four living creatures, each having six wings, were full of eyes around and within. And they do not rest day or night, saying:

   “Holy, holy, holy,

 Lord God Almighty,

Who was and is and is to come!”

77 – Lord God of Truth

Psalms 31:5

Into Your hand I commit my spirit;

You have redeemed me, O Lord God of truth.

78 – Lord God Omnipotent

Revelation 19:6

And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, “Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns!

Effective in Ministry

1. Accept the gifts and calling that God has given you, do not envy or criticize what others have or try to imitate them.

2. Pray daily to know the will of God for you and your ministry.

3. Be content with where God has called you, and with what He is asking you to do.

4. Continually ask for God’s help and power to do His will.

5. Remind yourself every day that you are in ministry to serve God and others and not to serve yourself or your own gain.

Finally,

Be reminded that God has called you just as you are. He has given you specific gifts for a reason. He desires to use you as the person you are along with the gifts you have – in combination with His Spirit’s anointing and transforming work – to minster to others.

Ministry

The disciples went from being frightened, uncertain sheep to becoming bold, testifying, miracle – working shepherds!

They declared the Gospel without shame, even to the point of suffering and death. This is the fiery zeal that comes from the anointing of the Holy Spirit.

Ministry Be Alert

We will reap what we sow, whether that be righteousness and blessing, or corruption.

God will hold us, as leaders, to a sticker standard.

How are we serving our Lord?

Even when people believed in Jesus and seemed to follow Him, He knew how fickle men’s heart could be (John 2:23-25). Jesus warned His followers to not trust in or seek for the praises of men (Luke 6:26).

For if it is the high opinion of men that we seek, our hearts will not be disposed to serving only the Lord.
The Bible

What the Holy Spirit illuminates or reveals concerning the truth will always be in agreement with what He has already revealed in the written Word of God (John 16:13-14).

There is NO new revelation that will ever add to or disagree with the Bible!

The Word is like Bread

Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’

Deuteronomy 8:3

He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.

Psalm 119:103

How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!

Isaiah 55:10

As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,

Exodus chapter 16 –kindly read

The Word is like a Pearl

Matthew 7:6

“Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.

The Word is like an Anchor

Hebrews 6:18-19

God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged. We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain,

The Word is like a Star

2 Peter 1:19

We also have the prophetic message as something completely reliable, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.

Revelation 2:28

I will also give that one the morning star.

The Word is like Meat

Hebrews 5:14

But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.
