- Reconsider the suffering and death of our Lord. He paid the price by lying down His life on the Cross voluntarily on behalf of each one of us.
- Resolve to celebrate Easter (on April 16th) with renewed joy and enthusiasm as we celebrate the victory of Jesus over sin, death and devil.
- Resolve to make changes in our life and in our family where necessary so that our life can reflect the victories life of Jesus.
Deuteronomy 3:27b-28
Look at the land with your own eyes, since you are not going to cross this Jordan. But commission Joshua, and encourage and strengthen him, for he will lead this people across and will cause them to inherit the land that you will see.
Thoughts on This Verse....
Moses led the people of Israel out of Egypt and in the wilderness, but did not get to enter into the Promised Land because of his sin. Yet, for all those years, Moses nurtured and prepared the person who would do what he could not do.
That person was Joshua. Who are you training, molding, encouraging, motivating, and calling to do what you won't be able to do? What successor will take your dreams farther than you can? Who is your Joshua?
Journey in the Lent …
So when your days are dark, hold onto his nail-scarred hands. Press into his wounds. They are there to remind you that sometimes the answer to questions beyond your comprehension is a love too wonderful for words.
Galatians 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
Thoughts on This Verse....
Where the Holy Spirit lives, human character is changed and spiritual fruit can be seen. Certainly this maturity isn't found overnight! It is, however, noticeable over the long haul of life. What fruit is the Spirit bearing in your life? In what ways have you matured?
In what areas do you want the Spirit to exercise greater control? Why not take a moment and consciously yield those areas in which you struggle to him now, as you pray?
