Old and New Covenant Contrasts – 12

Does satisfy God:

Hebrews 10:15-18

And the Holy Spirit also bears witness to us; for after saying,“This is the covenant that I will make with themafter those days, declares the Lord:

I will put my laws on their hearts, and write them on their minds,” then he adds, “I will remember their sins and their lawless deeds no more. “Where there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer any offering for sin.

No miracle power:

Hebrews 7:18

For on the one hand, a former commandment is set aside because of its weakness and uselessness

Miracles:

Galatians 3:1-5

O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? It was before your eyes that Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified.  Let me ask you only this: Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law or by hearing with faith?

Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh?  Did you suffer so many things in vain—if indeed it was in vain?  Does he who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you do so by works of the law, or by hearing with faith—

John 14:12

Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father.

Abolishment predicted:

Hosea 2:11

And I will put an end to all her mirth, her feasts, her new moons, her Sabbaths, and all her appointed feasts.

Establishment predicted:

Hebrews 8:7

For if that first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no occasion to look for a second.
