Looking unto Jesus

The author of our faith –

Hebrews 12:2

fixing our eyes on Jesus,  the pioneer  and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross,  scorning its shame,  and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

The perfecter of our faith –

Hebrews 12:2

fixing our eyes on Jesus,  the pioneer  and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross,  scorning its shame,  and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

One who was tempted –

Hebrews 2:18

Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.
One who is faithful –

Hebrews 3:6

But Christ is faithful as the Son  over God’s house. And we are his house,  if indeed we hold firmly  to our confidence and the hope  in which we glory.

One who sympathizes –

Hebrews 4:15

For we do not have a high priest  who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are —yet he did not sin.

One who learned obedience –

Hebrews 5:8

Son  though he was, he learned obedience from what he suffered

Spiritual Thoughts

.. To live the life Christ would have us live may not always add years to our lives; but it will always add life to our years. - Unknown

.. We are silent at the beginning of the day because God should have the first word, and we are silent before going to sleep because the last word also belongs to God. - Dietrich Bonhoeffer

.. Our safety lies in God and not in our feeling safe. - Hubert van Zeller
