“All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, “God opposes the proud but shows favour to the humble.” 1 Peter 5:5
When dealing with the Body of Christ, we have to take the attitude of our Saviour Jesus who knew His rights as God, but chose to humble himself to be in right relationship with us.
Lord, guide me in my relationships with others. You said that the world will know we are your followers by the love we show to each other (John 3:35). Help me to set aside my pride and to act in humility. Amen.
Better Things
Better Hope – Hebrews 7:19
for the law made nothing perfect; on the other hand, there is the bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near to God.
Better Substance – Hebrews 10:34
for you had compassion on me in my chains, and joyfully accepted the plundering of your goods, knowing that you have a better and an enduring possession for yourselves in heaven.
Better Country – Hebrew 11:16
But now they desire a better, that is, a heavenly country. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them.
Better Resurrection – Hebrew 11:35
Women received their dead raised to life again.
Others were tortured, not accepting deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection.
Matthew 6:25
"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?"
God gives beauty to the flowers and life to grass. In the grand scheme of things, these are transitory and insignificant. He sent his Son from Heaven to save us. So, he most definitely is going to give us what we need until we go home to live with him!
