The Day of the Lord - 1

Isaiah 2:17-21

The arrogance of man will be brought low and human pride humbled; the Lord alone will be exalted in that day, and the idols  will totally disappear. People will flee to caves  in the rocks and to holes in the ground from the fearful presence  of the Lord and the splendour of his majesty, when he rises to shake the earth. In that day  people will throw away  to the moles and bats their idols of silver and idols of gold,  which they made to worship.

They will flee to caverns in the rocks  and to the overhanging crags from the fearful presence of the Lord and the splendour of his majesty, when he rises  to shake the earth.

Isaiah 34:8

For the Lord has a day  of vengeance, a year of retribution,  to uphold Zion’s cause.

Jeremiah 46:10

But that day  belongs to the Lord, the Lord Almighty—a day of vengeance , for vengeance on his foes. The sword will devour  till it is satisfied, till it has quenched its thirst with blood. For the Lord, the Lord Almighty, will offer sacrifice in the land of the north by the River Euphrates.

Ezekiel 13:5

You have not gone up to the breaches in the wall to repair  it for the people of Israel so that it will stand firm in the battle on the day of the Lord.

Ezekiel 30:3

For the day is near, the day of the Lord  is near—a day of clouds, a time of doom for the nations.

Obadiah 1:15

“The day of the Lord is near for all nations. As you have done, it will be done to you; your deeds  will return upon your own head.

Zephaniah 1:7-8

Be silent  before the Sovereign Lord,  for the day of the Lord  is near. The Lord has prepared a sacrifice; he has consecrated those he has invited. “On the day of the Lord’s sacrifice I will punish  the officials and the king’s sons and all those clad in foreign clothes.
