Blasphemia, from Blasphemos to

~ Speak evil of –

Ephesians 4:31

Get rid of  all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice

~ Rail –

1 Timothy 6:4

they are conceited  and understand nothing. They have an unhealthy interest in controversies and quarrels about words  that result in envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions

2 Peter 2:11

yet even angels, although they are stronger and more powerful, do not heap abuse on such beings when bringing judgment on them from the Lord.

~ Revile –

Matthew 27:39

Those who passed by hurled insults at him, shaking their heads

~ Defame –

1 Corinthians 4:13

when we are slandered, we answer kindly. We have become the scum of the earth, the garbage  of the world—right up to this moment.

~ Slander –

Romans 3:8

Why not say—as some slanderously claim that we say—“Let us do evil that good may result”?  Their condemnation is just!

~ Insult by blasphemy –

Matthew 12:31

And so I tell you, every kind of sin and slander can be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.

Prayer

. Forgive me, O God, for the grudges I've harbored and the evil things I've thought about others. Help me to see and to value them as Jesus does. In his name I pray. Amen.
