Things Men Should Not Do Again

1. Turn from righteousness – Ezekiel 3:20

Again, when a righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits iniquity, and I lay a stumbling block before him, he shall die; because you did not give him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he has done shall not be remembered; but his blood I will require at your hand

2. Build to be in bondage – Galatians 4:9

But now after you have known God, or rather are known by God, how is it that you turn again to the weak and beggarly elements, to which you desire again to be in bondage?

3. Be entangled in Mosaic Law – Galatians 5:1

Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage

4. Continue sinning and repenting – Hebrews 6:1

Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God,

5. Turn back to folly – Psalm 85:8

I will hear what God the Lord will speak,
 For He will speak peace
 To His people and to His saints;
 But let them not turn back to folly.

6. Build sinful things – Galatians 2:18

For if I build again those things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor.

7. Be entangled in sin – 2 Peter 2:20-22

For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning. For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them. But it has happened to them according to the true proverb: “A dog returns to his own vomit,” and, “a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire.”
