Facts about God’s Promises – 2 Peter 1:4

It’s with Purpose – 2 Peter 1:4
Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises,  so that through them you may participate in the divine nature,  having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

It’s by Faith – Galatians 3:14
He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus,  so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.

It’s specific – Galatians 3:16
The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed.  Scripture does not say “and to seeds,” meaning many people, but “and to your seed,”  meaning one person, who is Christ.

It’s Giver – Galatians 3:18
For if the inheritance depends on the law, then it no longer depends on the promise;  but God in his grace gave it to Abraham through a promise.

Thoughts

. No one gets into heaven without a reservation. - Church sign

. Very few people take the trouble to use their brains as long as their prejudices are in working condition. - Roy L. Smith

. While the Kingdom of God as the realm in which God’s will is perfectly done continues to be future, the Kingdom as the active saving power of God has come into the world in the person and activity of Christ to redeem men from the kingdom of Satan. - George E. Ladd

John 9:3

"Neither this man nor his parents sinned," said Jesus, "but this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life."

Let's ask God to help us view people through the eyes of Jesus so that we will see them as people in whom the work of God needs to be done.

And just what is this work of God? Well, Jesus answered that question this way: To believe in the One he has sent! (John 6:28-29)
