Handling Disputes

The time to stop a dispute is when it begins [Prov. 17:14; 30:32-22]. As much as possible, do not let arguments get started [Prov. 20:3]. Some people  contribute to peace [Prov. 20:20]; others contribute to war [Prov. 22:10; 26:21]; and  there are some people that nobody can get along with [Prov. 29:9].
God blesses the peacemakers [Matt. 5:9], so let God’s wisdom direct you and use you to make peace [James 3:13-18].

Questions in Genesis

18:24
What if there are fifty righteous people in the city? Will you really sweep it away and not spare the place for the sake of the fifty righteous people in it?

18:25
Far be it from you to do such a thing —to kill the righteous with the wicked, treating the righteous  and the wicked alike.  Far be it from you! Will not the Judge  of all the earth do right?”

18:28
what if the number of the righteous is five less than fifty? Will you destroy the whole city for lack of five people?”

“If I find forty-five there,” he said, “I will not destroy it.”

Characteristics of God’s Promises

Great and Precious – Titus 1:2-3
in the hope of eternal life,  which God, who does not lie,  promised before the beginning of time,    and which now at his appointed season  he has brought to light  through the preaching entrusted to me  by the command of God  our Savior,

confirmed with an Oath – Hebrews 6:17
Because God wanted to make the unchanging  nature of his purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised,  he confirmed it with an oath.

Assured in Christ – 2 Corinthians 1:20
For no matter how many promises  God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen”  is spoken by us to the glory of God.
