Different kinds of Consciences – John 8:9

A convicted  conscience by Christ – John 8:9
At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there.

A weak conscience  by ignorance – 1 Cor. 8:10
For if someone with a weak conscience sees you, with all your knowledge, eating in an idol’s temple, won’t that person be emboldened to eat what is sacrificed to idols?

Romans 6:23

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
If we get paid what we deserve, we're not going to like our wages. On the other hand, God, who is rich in mercy and grace, gives us his gift because of the sacrifice of Jesus and not what we deserve. I don't know about you, but that surely does make me want to serve him more passionately and faithfully!

Activities of Satan

Entering in men to persuade to betray – Luke 22:3-4
Then Satan  entered Judas, called Iscariot,  one of the Twelve.   And Judas went to the chief priests and the officers of the temple guard  and discussed with them how he might betray Jesus.

Stops one’s ministering – 1 Thes. 2:18

For we wanted to come to you—certainly I, Paul, did, again and again—but Satan  blocked our way
Struggling with God’s people – Ephesians 6:11-12

Put on the full armor of God,  so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.   For our struggle is not against flesh and blood,  but against the rulers, against the authorities,  against the powers  of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Thoughts

. Men give advice; God gives guidance. - Leonard Ravenhill

. If we are willing to take hours on end to learn to play a piano, or operate a computer, or fly an airplane, it is sheer nonsense for us to imagine that we can learn the high art of getting guidance through communion with the Lord without being willing to set aside time for it.  It is no accident that the Bible speaks of prayer as a form of waiting on God. - Paul S. Rees
