Just Praying

Acts 4:31

After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly. —

Prayer changes us. Prayer calls on God to change circumstances. Prayer is powerful. Prayer brings revival. Prayer transforms God's people and brings about salvation. Prayer makes us bold for the Lord. So why do we find it so hard to find time to pray?

Christian must not practice evil

They must not lust after evil things:

1 Corinthians 10:6
Now these things became our examples, to the intent that we should not lust after evil things as they also lusted.

In evil they must remain babes:

1 Corinthians 14:20
Brethren, do not be children in understanding; however, in malice be babes, but in understanding be mature.

They must put off all overflowing of wickedness:

James 1:21
Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.

Trained to Discern

Hebrews 5:11-14
Remember, just reading God’s Word isn’t enough. Without applying what you’ve read, all you’ll have is head knowledge. Obedience trains us to discern good and evil. Through practice, we learn wisdom and develop spiritual maturity. With God’s grace and your perseverance, the ability to discern will come.

Thought

. The greatest work any of us can do for another, whether old or young, is to teach the soul to draw its water from the wells of God. - F. B. Meyer
