Importance of helping others

“If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?” – 1 John 3:17

I love the Bible because it is so gritty with the dirt of real life. In the previous verse, John told his churches that they should be willing to lay down their lives for each other. That's pretty good in theory, especially when you don't think it will ever be necessary. But this verse makes the application of that principle an everyday reality: Is there somebody in your church in need, then be moved to help them, that's what laying down your life is all about!

God’s Word: Purifier unto Holy Living

James 1:23-25
For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.

Significance of the Repentance

Leads to Anointing – Hebrews 1:9

You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness;
 Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You
 With the oil of gladness more than Your companions.”

Produces Fruit – Matthew 3:8

Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance,

Completeness

Matthew 11:28
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
The Ministry of the Unnoticed

Matthew 5:3
“Blessed are the poor in spirit,
 For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
