Our Help Began at Pentecost?

Our dependence upon the Holy Spirit should grow in tandem with our understanding of God. As we learn of the Christ to whom is conforming us, the Holy Spirit at the same time reveals our inadequacy to appropriate such divine attributes without His intervention. God’s Spirit calls us to surrender our will and way of coping so that He may live the character of Christ through us. We trade frustration for peace, anger for patience, and shallow happiness for pure joy as we become more like the Lord we serve.

With the aid of God’s Helper, our old existence of lonely desolation is pushed away in favor of a triumphant Christian life.

Thoughts

. For some who pray expecting an answer, it takes a long time to learn that delays of answers are not denials.  There are deep secrets of love and wisdom that we have never imagined awaiting us.  We tend to want to pick our blessings from the tree while they are still green, yet God wants us to wait until they’re fully ripe.  Do not doubt His love.

Instead, lift up your eyes and begin praising Him right now for the deliverance that is on its way to you.  Then you’ll be abundantly rewarded for the delay that has tried your faith. - L. B. Cowman

Jesus is stronger than our Fears

Mark 4:39
Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.

The blood, the covering

Genesis 3:21
Also for Adam and his wife the Lord God made tunics of skin, and clothed them.

No blood, no atonement

Leviticus 17:11
For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.’
