Be nearer to God

The LORD is close to the broken-hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. — Psalm 34:18
The LORD is... ...near! ...present! ...close! How do I know? He came close in the manger. He walked among us in ministry. He suffered with us and for us at Calvary. We know that in tragedy, trial, heartbreak, and brokenness he is near to us to save us.

 So, will our hearts be open to him and will we be seeking him to come near? Don't let troubles or heartache lead you to pull away from God or doubt his nearness. Let him draw close to you.

Grace, Truth and Acceptance

John 1:14
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

You Get to Choose

Isaiah 1:19-20
If you are willing and obedient,
 You shall eat the good of the land;
  But if you refuse and rebel,
 You shall be devoured by the sword”;
 For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.

Live in God’s Way

As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is flawless. He is a shield for all who take refuge in him. — Psalm 18:30
God is a shield whose Word can be trusted. His way is not only true, but it is also life-giving. But, we must take refuge in him if his flawless word and his perfect way are going to be blessings and his presence is going to bless us as our shield. Our allegiance, reliance, and dependence must be voluntarily placed in him and lives must be committed to living by flawless word.

Thoughts

. There is only one limit to what prayer can do; that is what God can do. - R. A. Torrey

. The greatest challenge here is faithfulness, which must be lived in the choices of every moment.  When your eating, drinking, working, playing, speaking, or writing is no longer for the glory of God, you should stop it immediately, because you no longer live for the glory of God, you begin living for your own glory.  Then you will separate yourself from God and do yourself harm. - Henri Nouwen
