Deligent in Business

The beleiver should be sure that he is making his money honestly [Proverbs 20:17]. His business may be reputable enough but his methods may be crooked. For instance:

. flasify income tax returns [Prov. 12:22]

. cheating on weights and measures [Prov. 11:1]

. bribing local inspectors [Prov. 17:23]

. advertising differences in products when no such difference exist [Prov. 20:6]

. fudging on expense accounts [Prov. 13:5]

. speculating in the market or on the stock exchange – just another form of gambling [Prov. 13::11]

. paying inadequate wages to employees [Prov. 12:16]

It is against this latter abuse that James cries out, in James 5:4  “Look! The wages you failed to pay the workers  who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries  of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord Almighty.”

A Servant Heart

mark 10:45
For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve,  and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Leading by Example

John 13:12-15
When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. “Do you understand what I have done for you?” he asked them.   “You call me ‘Teacher’  and ‘Lord,’  and rightly so, for that is what I am.   Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet.    I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.

For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve,  and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Prayer

Ephesians 6:11
“Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.”
