Significance of His Lordship

. God has made him Lord
Acts 2:36
“Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.”

. God has called him Lord

Hebrews 1:10
And:
“You, Lord, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth,
And the heavens are the work of Your hands.

. God is glorified by it

Philippians 2:11
and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

. David calls him “Lord.”

Matthew 22:43-44
The same day the Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, came to Him and asked Him, saying: “Teacher, Moses said that if a man dies, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife and raise up offspring for his brother.

. Christ died and returned to life that he might be the Lord

Romans 14:9
For to this end Christ died and rose and lived again, that He might be Lord of both the dead and the living.

Faith Triumphs in Trouble

Romans 5:1-5

Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope.

Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
