Practicing His Teaching

The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like [Moses] from among your own brothers. You must listen to him. – Deuteronomy 18:25

Jesus is that prophet like Moses. He has come and taught us God's truth. He has taught us with his words recorded in the Gospels. He has taught us with his example, through the deeds he has done. He is teaching us through his abiding presence in us and through the Spirit he has given us. But he teaches us most effectively when we put into practice what he has said.

Prayer

Prayer grasps hold of the promises of God and erects them like a wall between us and the powers of darkness. Prayer can be bring God's angels rushing to our assistance (2 kings 6:15-17; Dan. 10:13; Heb. 1:14).

Prayer can overthrow the plans of Satan. Prayer can battle any combination of Satan's forces.

Who's Got Time?

Are you ready to give up? Is the answer to your prayer taking longer than you had hoped? If you have examined your heart for the characteristics of mega faith and know that you are praying "right " then keep trusting God.

Satan might be delaying the answer, but is on the way!

Psalms 27:14

Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; yes; wait for the LORD.

Are we *ready* for the future Challenges?

Mark 9:30-31

We often seek to attract large crowds to our churches, crusades, and rallies. Jesus also ministered to large crowds. But his strongest teaching on discipleship occurs away from the crowds, when he is alone with his disciples. What the crowds are able to accept is not enough to call mature disciples to that next level in their walk with the Savior.

So Jesus withdrew for intensive teaching with a small group of committed disciples so he could mature them and make them ready for future challenges.
